Train. Build. Serve.

Our Commitment to Equity

Rep GA is a nonpartisan organization committed to recruiting, training, and developing leaders across the state of Georgia. As the demographics in the state change, we work to ensure that the same opportunities for leadership exist for all Georgians, regardless of race, gender, religion, region, or citizenship. In addition to supporting future leaders, we also connect with like-minded organizations to partner in overcoming structural and racial barriers to civic engagement.

MISSION

Rep GA is on a mission to train, build, and serve a civic empowerment community that amplifies diverse representation state-wide. As a collective, we aim to train prospective & current leaders, build community, and serve all Georgians who are interested in propelling progressive power.

VISION

Rep GA elevates the voices of marginalized populations, existing as a resource, training mechanism, and civic empowerment community built to fortify a future where representation across leadership equally represents all.

OUR STORY

With roots as deep as the South, Rep GA was founded in 2018 as the only nonpartisan organization working to offer training and development for community members, servant leaders, and political candidates across the state of Georgia.

Community cultivation is at Rep GA’s core, and since its inception it has stayed true to its promise of training, building, and serving hundreds of local communities and their leaders. As Georgia has continued to gain national visibility as a battleground state, its work is inspired by the Wellstone Action (now RePower) training method for candidates — which is credited with propelling progressive candidate work across state lines.

In 2020, Kimberlyn Carter, one of the three founding members of Rep GA, became the interim Executive Director and is now the permanent Executive Director. Carter, a Georgia native, and her ever-expanding team bring national expertise to the Atlanta Metropolitan area and to the doorsteps of Georgia’s smallest cities. In collaboration with local and national partners Rep GA is at the helm of putting Georgians and Georgia first, as a transformative and barrier-breaking state of leaders.

Encouraging potential leaders, supporting them through an intentional decision-making process, and preparing them to run for elected office, position themselves for appointed office, or get involved and lead in public service.

Skill Building Icon

Skill-Building for Candidates and Campaign Staff

Providing access to high-quality 360 campaign skills training for municipal and state-level candidates and staff.

Our pillar programs make this work possible:

A non-partisan candidate development program that provides those who’ve expressed interest in running for office with critical insights and relevant resources to walk-through each step of their campaign process.

Ready to Run

A signature orientation program that serves as a primer for individuals considering running for political office or a leadership role in local government.
